Why Invest in Good Leather Wallets? 9 Reasons to go Leather!

One of the most common fabrics designers and the fashion industry uses for clothes and accessories is leather. Leather has been part of our clothing long before the fashion industry started using it. Just remember, our prehistoric ancestors used leather obtained from preys to cover their bodies. Comfortable, and long-lasting, leather is a great material for every piece of clothing.

One of the terms used for leather wallets is billfold, which is described as thin and flat folding case for carrying money in the pocket. Nowadays, leather wallets are one of the most commonly used accessories. That being said, some people still find that standard wallets as a better option. Their reasoning: leather wallets can be costly and expensive. And that is true, wallets made of leather usually cost more than standard wallets. But they will be one of your best investments. With a wide variety of styles for leather wallets available, there are simply few reasons why a leather wallet is a better option than a standard wallet.

Starting from the obvious and main reason why leather wallet is better option. Wallets made of leather can last with years, and their composure, color and smell will stay the same. Unlike standard wallets, leather can withstand the wear and tear of constant use. Their flexibility allows them to store multiple cards, coins and paper money in it, without breaking a sweat. The same thing cannot be said for a standard wallet, which might and will surely crack if filled with too many cards and money.

Speaking of durability, leather wallets are also extremely strong. They can withstand rain, hot weather, jammed in the pants pocket, or being thrown onto the back seat of your car. A leather wallet will keep its quality with time passing by due to the resistance of fire, dust, and dry abrasion. With such resistance to outdoor factors, leather wallets do not require any special care and treatment to keep them fresh, shiny and clean.

Let’s talk about how many wallets you need. One leather wallet can last up to 10 years. A standard wallet will usually crack after the second year. The simple math says that one leather wallet can substitute five standard wallets, making purchasing it a more practical choice. Leather wallet won’t become misshapen, won’t fall apart and will save you a lot of money in the long run.

Have you ever touched leather? If you have, you probably know that feeling of softness when touching leather. You don’t get that feeling when touching a standard wallet. Because of the comfortable feeling that a leather wallet provides to its bearer, you get a good feeling when you carry your wallet in the jacket breast pocket, your pants pocket, or in a bag.

You’ll get one point more for style when you carry a leather wallet. However you put it, leather accessories are stylish accessories. For sophisticated people, wallets are more than just useful items for carrying money, they are a fashion statement. A leather wallet reflects your personality in a way no other accessory can.

Some fabrics go out of fashion, but leather is here to stay. Leather jacket, leather bag, leather wallet, all these accessories and clothing are timeless. A leather wallet is a timeless piece in the way the little black dress is. No matter the fashion era, a leather wallet will keep you in style and in line with the trends.

The Nature Aspect

In the last few years people are looking more and more ways to get in touch with the nature, being in contact with the nature. Synthetic materials do not offer that feeling, and they are not eco-friendly. A wallet made out of leather, on the other hand, will always give you bonus points for keeping contact with natural objects and natural fabrics.

The Health Aspect

You probably won’t touch your skin with your leather wallet, but it is important to know that since leather is a natural material, it is much safer health-wise for your skin. Synthetic materials can give you rashes, while leather will never make your skin itchy and irritating.

The Smell

Last, but not least, leather wallets carry a certain smell. Depending of the type of leather used, the smell is different. But the smell is what guarantees you are carrying an original, natural made wallet in your pocket. The smell also makes sure your leather wallet will keep your leather bag odor-free. Leather can withstand contact with perfumes, making it easy to accommodate in a bag full with other accessories.

Should Men Wear Leather Bags - Why Yes and Why No

In recent years, however, leather bags for men have become such a huge trend, that some of the most famous women designers have started creating leather bags for men as well for women. That being said, the question is, should men wear leather bags? Well, yes, and no.

There are situations where men leather bags are absolutely common and accepted practice, and then there are situations where a man bag is a definitely “no no”. That being said, let’s discuss when should men wear leather bags, and what type of bags are out there.

Men should wear leather bags

When going to the gym, when on a business meeting, for work, or sometimes for a casual event, men should and could wear bags. Why?

Because leather bags are practical and they are fashionable. Just like women need a huge bag to pack all their stuff from makeup, phone, pills, and so on, men also need a bag big enough to fit: phone, wallet, possibly a tablet PC, eBook reader, documents and so on.

Some five years ago, the standard outfit for lawyers and people going on business meeting was a suit and a suitcase. But no more. In later years, carrying leather bags such as briefcases is normal and even recommended to business meetings. They give the impression of a more laid back character, not one that is sterile and boring.

The fact is, men have become more interested and engaged in style and fashion in the past 10 to 15 years, that carrying a bag is common. Gone are the years when a tie and a watch were all the accessories men could wear.

From a style point of view, a leather bag allows men to have empty pockets, e key aspect when wearing a good suit.

Men should not wear leather bags

As mentioned, there are situations where men should absolutely avoid wearing a leather bag of any type. That is when going to a quick dinner, on a date, or out for some drinks. In those situations, all you need is wallet, phone and keys.

There is absolutely no reason to go out on a date with a girl carrying a bag, unless you want to use it as a conversation starter.

Types of leather bags for men

There are several types of leather bags for men that are convenient, stylish and appropriate for different conditions.

Let’s start with the gold standard in business meetings, the briefcase. With a high quality briefcase, you can be sure you’ll make a great first impression on any business meeting. The safest choice of all, briefcases improve your style, class and can fit everything you carry. Make sure to match your briefcase with your shoes, belt, and even gloves. When it comes to briefcases, most men opt for a black version, because it is easier to combine. But that is exactly the reason why should you opt for a brown version, especially if you want to stand out.

The messenger bag is one type of leather bag that has become popular in recent years, due to its size and practicality. Smaller in size, the messenger bag is suitable for casual events, one that will come in handy if you want to have empty pockets but you carry one or two phones, a wallet, sunglasses, and several keys. The trick with messenger bags is they absolutely must be part of the outfit, they shouldn’t stand out. There are no set rules how to wear it, as long as it matches the outfit.

Last, but not least, the holdall bag is another type of leather bags that has recently taken over the market. Thanks to popular designers such as Roberto Cavalli, Giorgio Armani, and Trussardi, holdall bags have become part of the fashion runway. The only downside of holdall leather bags is they cannot be carried over the shoulder. But if that is not a problem for you, holdall bags can also fit any style, be it casual or more formal.

Wallets for Men - How to Decide Which One is Best For You?

Once you make a decision to buy a leather wallet because of the advantages leather has over standard wallets for men, it is time to choose the type of wallet you need. And that is easier said than done. In order to determine which type of leather wallet is the right one for you, first you must understand the different types of leather wallets for men there are. All of them have something in common, and that is their design made specially to withstand carrying many cards, bills, paper money and coins. Here are the different types of leather wallets.

The most common type of leather wallet is the bi-fold type, designed to carry credit cards and paper money. In this type of leather wallet, you can insert your paper money into the top opening unfolded, while the credit cards can be inserted either vertically or horizontally. Once you insert your money and cards, you can fold the leather wallet in half. In most cases, there is no coin pocket. That being said, there are some bi-fold leather wallets for men that have a small zip pocket that can hold few coins. However, do not expect storing your treasure in the zip pocket for coins. Because bi-fold wallets lay relatively flat, they are the most practical choice when you want to keep your wallet in the pants pocket.

The only difference between bi-fold and trifold leather wallets is the latter are folded into thirds, not in half. Because trifold wallets are folded into thirds, they feature secret pocket in the middle, which is usually the place for storing your pictures. On both sides of the middle, there are card clots for storing your credit cards vertically. Trifold pockets are usually smaller, but they are less practical. The reason is simple: trifold wallets for men are usually bulkier because of the way of folding. This makes them tricky to store in your pants pocket. If you want to store your wallet in the jacket pocket, trifold is the way to go.

Checkbook Wallet

If you fancy casual style and wearing your wallet in the pocket, checkbook wallets are not designed for you. Checkbook wallets for men and women are usually larger in size, because their design allows storing checkbooks horizontally. Unlike bi-fold and tri-fold wallets, checkbook wallets feature a zip closure, with a coin pocket a must. The name checkbook refers to these wallets as more business-like wallets, which once you see how many card slots are there, you’ll understand. Sometimes, checkbook wallets can store documents as well, as long as the documents are folded.

Money Clip

The smallest type of leather wallets for men, money clip wallet is designed mostly to fit in the front pocket of your jeans. There is absolutely no coin slot, and room for only few credit cards. Money clip leather wallets are ideal when you don’t want to carry much money with you, and when you need to pack light.

Leather Travel

Carrying a leather wallet on your trip is absolutely a must sometimes, especially when you need to pack a passport, ticket, documents, foreign currency money and much more. Leather travel bags are also recommended for your trip, because they can withstand the bulk of your accessories. On the topic of leather travel wallets for men, they are designed with a zip closure, or sometimes with a press-stud closure. This way, you can be sure that all documents are safely stored in your wallet.

Use The AARRR Pirates Framework To Organize Your Business

When you're starting a new e-commerce business from scratch, it's really easy to get sidetracked by the millions of things you have to do and not focus on the most important things that will help your business grow. Do you focus on getting more traffic to your site? Do you improve your packaging? Do you look for ways to reduce costs? Do you order new business cards? Do you focus on social media? Do you focus on marketing? Do you fix your website? It’s really easy to get overwhelmed by all the things you should be doing.

This is why I've started following the AARRR metrics framework. In addition to using it for tracking progress using various metrics, I use it to organize my to do list based on what part of the business I want to focus on. I organize my tasks for each stage of the framework.

Here's what each different step of the AARRR Pirates framework means for me:

1. Acquisition: This deals with user acquisition. All tasks related to getting more visitors to my site go here. For example, improve Google ranking of the site. Write more content for better SEO. All SEO optimizations. Basically anything that has to do with increasing the visitor count to your site.

2. Activation. This deals with all the stuff that happens after the user lands on my website. Everything that allows me to make the sale. For example, writing good descriptions for the products, putting up better pictures, A/B testing landing pages for conversion etc.

3. Referral. I also call this the Experience section. This has everything that makes the user's experience with my service good so that they refer my products to their friends and family. This includes tasks such as getting user feedback on purchases, giving out coupon codes, improving delivery and handling times, improving packaging etc. Basically everything that helps you sell the experience.

4. Retention. This step deals with retaining your customers; making sure your customers come back for more. This depends on your type of ecommerce store. Tasks here might include getting user feedback, sending newsletters to users to keep them up to date about your products and services, sending out reminder emails etc.

5. Revenue. This section has all the tasks that deal with increasing those revenue and profit numbers. I have stuff here that deals with new product introductions, reducing shipping and handling costs, product manufacturing costs etc.
